It seems to me long time in Singapore i never visited any Thai cuisine. Normally what i saw are those in shopping malls which wont attract me to go in. Actually there is one very near to where i stay but due to complaint by my bro that their service is very bad and drop in quality of food i nvr tend to step into their shop till one weekend, whr me and 茹 really do not have any idea whr to fill our stomach, we just simply choose it.
When we reached the shop, it was still early..should be about 6pm. usually if u reach about 7pm you will need to have patience to wait.. im quite suprise that actually their attitude is not as wat i was told. they are quite frenly lo.. im not defending them, just to express how we are treated on that day. maybe when they r too bz, and u keep asking when how long it will take for you to be seated ot to be served, then they will show ugly faces? guess me.. haha..
As only both of us, we were unable to order much. so we just go for some thai dishes which ought to be nice.. haha..
so the first one was Tom Yam Chicken Soup(not clear base..cost SGD$6). yeah we were lucky.. it was NICE.. i like the taste.. its really Sour and Spicy. Not for the faint hearted.. wahahaha.. although 茹 is not a spicy eater, yet she was able to take it a spoon after a spoon. yum yum.. taste to believe it..
Next came the Pineapple Fried Rice(SGD$6). Hmm.. how come like that de??? y is it served in a plate not in a half cut pineapple? Is it they felt it is too troublesome to make it? first impression lost but i dont deny their taste is still acceptable. quite normal ba if compare to other competitors.
the next dish is highly recommended. The pandan chicken(SGD$6) is realli super delicious but too bad only four pieces.. haha.. hmmm.. it is as usual, strongly marinated in thai ingredients and deep fried till golden crispy. if got ten pieces i also can finish. hahaha.. but one thing, eating pandan chicken is very troublesome as need to remove the pandan leaves.
Lastly after finishing our sumptuous dinner, we ended it with a mango sticky(SGD$5) but it is a wrong move! the coconut taste is very funny.. some sort like sweet sweet taste. not fagrant at all. then the glutinous rice is not salty salty but also tasted sweet. both the item that should not be sweet became sweet but the mango that need to be sweet is not sweet at all. alamak..
oh ya.. they also served coke(SGD$2) direct import from thailand BUT 茹 said its not the taste from thailand.. i never been to thailand before so im unable to comment about it. very soon i will able to rectify it..hiak hiak..

作记@East Coast Lagoon Food Court, SG
Just a quick update on wat i ate at east coast park when 茹 are having the funny taste pig trottle. hahaa..
saw a stall which is full of newspaper article.. as there are not much of choices and i do not wan to eat the pig trottle, i therefore go for it. Dry duck kuey tiau.
its a WRONG choice to choose kuey tiau as i really thick if i choose rice, it will be much better. hahaa..a set cost me $5.
the duck gravy is very thick and the taste is very powerful. maybe to somebady else it will be too salty but to me, its just nice. when it is blends together with the which is quite bland, it really makes a perfect match. nice nice.. if i order rice, the gravy will go very nicely with it.
in short, i recommend this dish to u all..but pls be reminded that the location is very hot. get ready to be sweaty.. hahaha..

Han's Bak Kut Teh @ East Coast Lagoon Food Village, SG by ViN
I recommended the nice Kota Tinggi Pig Trottle to my bro but he told me that a stall at East Coast makes it even nicer. from this statement, my eyes almost bulge out as i do not believe that there is a pig trottle even nicer than what i tasted at QiangJi,Kota Tinggi. So, i a very short time after hearing that, i made my way to East Coast Park to acknowledge the statement!
There i am one weekend with 茹 and one of our fren. i told my fren that this dish was highly recommended by my bro. actually its quite hard to find this stall as it does not state anything about pig trottle on this signboard. i got to called my sis-in-law to confirm which stall is it.
the stall name is Han's Bak Kut Teh. When i proceed up to the stall, onli i saw a few customer queing up for its pig trottle.Wah.. their pig trottle is very big and fat neh.. from the looks it seems gorgeous.
ordered one slim for 茹 and one fat for our fren. wat about me? haha.. i dun like this dish so i prefer to get other dishes lo.. hiak hiak.. saw that they sell braise taupok too.. its one of my fav, so i jus told the auntie to get 1 for me too.. lucky for me i ordered other food.. wahahahaha.. cause the statement is untrue.. wahahakakakaka.. i not sure about other's opinion, but confirmed by three of us that it fails to convince us to come back for the next time.
lets go in more detail why we complaint the dish. firstly, when we first taste the gravy.. hmmm.. seems not bad but when tried more it seems the taste of star anise(八角) is too strong..
actually thats still not so important.. the biggest problem is, although the trottle seems very dark in colour BUT the taste didnt really penetrate into it.. so meaning the trottle and the gravy seems to be different dish.. maybe we are unlucky that day but let us taste it once in this condition, it really stale its image..
furthermore, an easy taupok dish come out to be very funny taste.. i didnt finish eating it as i really cant continue having it. it really NOT NICE.. oh no.. wat has happen.. hmmm.. if ue ever tried this stall and feels that we are really unlucky on that day, pls correct me as when i bek to tell my bro about our opinion, he seems to disagree with me.. hahaha.. watever..

八哩半大家發鸭肉@ Skudai, JB by ViN
Are you craving for some nice duck meat action? here i bring you a stall at JB which i think its not bad but not till superb.
we spend almost half an hour locating it while also contacted a few frens to get to this place. it is located quite near to sutera mall. If you are on the way from jalan skudai turning into jalan sutera danga, before reaching sutera mall u will see a board asking you to turn right leading you to this stall but dun be too happy yet as its the only board u will see and it wont lead you directly to its location. after turning right, you need to turn right again at a small path leading to kua kuang school. then all the way straight until you see jua kuang school. from kua kuang main gate, u are able to see a lot of zinc made roof stall. the location of this stall is around thr. For more info, pleaserefer to the location i tag.
ok.. food introduction time. before entering the stall, you will see a lot of newspaper printout as a decoration for the stalls..
all showing that this stall has been introduced by a lot of media. i felt quit cosy after entering the stall as the decoration are all using wood although the outer tables are using normal plastic type. the place is quite clean too.
i saw the boss himself are still the one operating the stall so giving me some confidence before actually tasting the food.
we ordered a duck portion for two, braised tofu and egg, beancurd stick and noodles.
their duck meat.. hmm.. it is braised type of duck and hmm.. its sauce to me is a little bit not salty enough but to 茹, its perfect for her. the meat is quite tender while the portion for two is still acceptable.
i personally like its braised tofu as the taste really blends into it.. you are able to see a lot of bubble look alike pattern in the tofu meaning it was braised for quite some time. Colour wise sure is dark enough to shows its nice before eating.
Besides that, their beancurd stick is also not bad. as it is served before the duck, im unable to stop myself from attacking it. im a beancurd stick lover, so you can believe my views on it.. hahaha.. BUT its a bit expensive as a small bowl cost me RM3.
Lastly, their noodles is quite normal. nothing to shout out for.
Overall, it cost me RM30++

HoHo Steamboat @ Taman Molek, JB by ViN
It been a while since i had my last steamboat treat.. and from my bro and sis comments, this steamboat is very nice and if you are late really need to wait quite long to find a seat although they have at least 30-40 tables.
So about 6pm we already setoff so that we do not need to wait. luckily not much customer at that time when we reach. after settle down, browse thru their menu.. wahh almost gave me heart attack. their price list is all starting from RM10. !@#%#%#$%@..
a plate of meatballs which consist only 16pcs or a plate of beancurd stick cost RM10..
walau.. how their business is still so good when their price is so high??? issit their soup base is really good? not known till i tried..
when the soup was served.. i quickly took a spoon before we added in the ingredients. hmmm.. yeah the taste is quite nice but it also dont makes me wanna return as i still think it is damn expensive.
there is only 1 thing i crave off after tasting all their ingredients.. there is this so called QQ tofu that i never tasted before. it is very soft and springy. maybe they do it by themselves as i nvr seen it sold in supermarkets.
oh ya, besides that, their chilli is also not bad.
overall, this dinner cost me RM220 for 5 adults(including three bottles of beer). taste is not bad but for the price its really too expensive. i confirm i wont be back besides if only some others give me a treat.. wahhahaa

Laksa @ Taman Daya, JB by ViN
My previous stating that im quite disappointed with the laksa which i tasted at century garden. Now let me bring you my another experience of laksa, again im giving it very high expectation as 茹 told me that its very nice. how does it taste? read on..
actually we do not know the actual location and somebady said that it has moved. anyway, we were already at taman daya, just give it a try to see if our luck was there. yeah, indeed we were lucky. we found it in no time. location is at the cross section of jalan sagu 1 and jalan sagu 6. i will tag the location below.
..back to the food.. when you reach this kopitiam, the stall is very easy to determine as it is operated by two BIG brothers.. hahaha.. almost each table are having their dish so it gaves me more confidence this time.. when i ordered, i saw their laksa soup was so thick which makes me felt seeing it, was already good enough. serving time still acceptable as understand there were so many people ordering.
when the dish was served, the first thing i did is, scooped its soup and drip it back into the bowl. the thickness of its soup makes it flow so slowly.. when it touched my tongue, oohhh.. this is type of laksa, i really nvr tried before.. in laksa, wat makes it shines out from others? its sure will be the soup base.. so this stall already win in this point. i like the creamyness of its soup but of course it is really very unhealthy as i think the coconut milk is more than usual. can judge by looking at it as the soup is very white.. ermm.. dont care so much la.. just eat.. haha.. if worry so much then no good food to taste already. its not spicy but can add more sambal which is wat i did.. haha..
for the ingredients, actually it is not too fancy.. two fishballs, a few slices of fishcakes, a few taupok(really nice),beansprouts and a lot of cockles. for this dish it cost RM4.
besides laksa, they also sells rojak. im not fan of it but from comments from others, it really tasted nice..
do you think i will just have the laksa? hiak hiak.. look around, i also saw a stall selling charkueytiau which seems good when it served to the table next to me. yeah i ordered a plate also. hmmm.. taste a bit lose to ahfook street stall. maybe it is not enough dirty to have the supreme taste. wahahaha.

Restaurant TaPaiTang @ Taman Melodies, JB by ViN
After an unsatisfied dinner, my stomach keep on grumbling which makes my mouth also grumbling.. luckily 茹 able to think of a nice dish nearby which can ease my crave for good food.
There we go for my second dinner, Salted Chicken.. she said that it was very famous at JB. hmmm.. how come i nvr heard it before.. getting a food gps wife is really a bless to me.. hahaha..
we didnt have this dish at the restaurant and the time for them to packet it for me, just take less than 10mins.. it cost me RM22 for this chicken.. the waitress has very good manners.. and too bad, only a whole chicken to be sold..
when reached home, the moment i opened the packet, wahahaahah.. no need to taste i oledi know it is nice.. not only nice.. is super duper extremely nice when it was put in my mouth.. the chicken texture is very soft even its breast meat. it is not too salty which i think its good and the mixture of herbal ingredients are just making the dish to taste even better.
hmmm.. as i only bought one chicken and 6person attacking.. i think its gone in less than 10mins.. hahaha.. its a highly recommend dish from kvindou.. hiak hiakk.. even better than the one sold at restaurant toto at setia indah.

Alley Food @ Century Garden, JB by ViN
After tasted the superb alley food at Jln Wong Ah Fook, we targeted another alley which promise by some other bloggers for heavenly food too..
We setoff to the destination after a tiring working Friday with high expectation to get nice food for our grumbling tummy. The first impression when i reached the entry was, ohhh, this place is a lot cleaner then Jln Wong Ah Fook. It is situated between a row of shophouses and houses. More specifically, its known as back lane of Jalan Harimau, opposite ESSO and behind Standard Charted Bank(clear enough?). Although, cleaner place gave me better mood to eat as i dont see any roaches or rat greeting me, but taste of the food is the most important.
Actually in this alley, there is just a few stalls and the recommended dishes were the laksa and fried cockles kuey tiau. So do not need to think much, we order them..
Maybe i have too high expectation, both dishes seems do not reach the standard i marked. hmmm.. im quite dissapointed of it.
For the laksa, actually its not bad but as maybe being promoted by other till its so nice, and tasting it to be so normal, really makes my mood drop. the ingredients are very normal if i dont remember wrongly, beancurd(tofu), beancurd skin(taukee)and some cockles. da dish cost me RM4.50.
Next for the fried kueytiau.. hmmm.. i only can say the taste is not there.. the spirit is not there.. dont know how to explain.. it just that the fagrance of a fried kueytiau is not there.. hahaha.. understand me? da dish emptied RM3.50 from my wallet.
besides that, we still ordered fried dough(youtiau) and 6taste(liu wei.. hahaha).. nothing to expect from them.. hahaha..
so, if u dont mind see cockroaches or rats, i really recommend jln wong ah fook's stall for its magnificient taste of food.. hahhaa..
