Night out and morning shots

Last night, went together with Keong and Hoe to the Helix Bridge. Around 9pm we reached and stayed there till almost 11.30pm. Half chatting and half photo taking, it makes the time really flies. To me, night photography is really hard and there is a lot of things to learn. Maybe I'm more interested in macro shots, so after snapping a while, i felt bored. Haha...
Some macros to share from before breakfast snapping.

AP morning shots

It is wesak day! what a great morning. Yesterday night already packed my items for my macro outing this morning. Heard from a lot of CS member that Admiralty Park is a heaven for macros and as it is so near to me, i chose this location to test the Sigma 150mm F2.8 EX APO DG HSM Macro which i just bought 2 days ago. At first i never thought i will buy this lens as it is quite expensive, but from CS forum accidentally let me saw that somebody is selling it for quite sometime but it is still avail. So i tried to bargain with him and cut $100 from is original price. He agreed!hoho..seems like a gift from heaven.hahaha..

From the north entrance of AP, it took me about 2 hours to walk 100m. haha..cause from the start i already saw so many insects...damn shiok..BUT they also saw me..I'm attacked by mosquito and ants..shit..till now still feeling itchy..haha...

The quality of this macro lens really is incredible. Very sharp and its auto focusing was really fast. But i still heard ppl say nikkor 200mm is much more sharper..hoho..if i really gila liau, then mayb will buy 1 to try out..hahaha...the problem that i have found out about this lens is, when auto focusing an object which is too near, it will have problem in focusing it. but anyhow to me it is ok as normally im using manual focus.so anybody who is in for macro, dun think liau, get this HERO to fill in your macro pleasure..haha..till now, i never regret buying it!

Below are some pictures which is taken this morning

A Macro Beginning!!!

Its a nice cloudy+a bit rainy+a bit sunny Saturday. Its the first time I'm bringing out my DSLR for a test run. Met up with Hao and ah P, who are also a D90 owner, for our lunch at S11,AMK. Then there we set off to our macro destination, Macritchie Reservoir.

Snap snap here, click click there. As a noob, each click seems to be a waste of battery as the pictures doesn't seems to be sharp. After taken so many pictures, the quality doesn't seems to satisfy me anyway. ah P with all his small small and useful gadgets & Hao with his 12+ zoom lens seems to be getting somewhere while I'm still struggling around.

At first, I thought maybe around 2-3hours we will be out of there but about 3 hours later, we were just about 2.2km down the trail and the time was almost 4.30pm. The trails were muddy and slippery, which make our pace slower. We still have about 9.8km to go. OMG, I'm already almost drained and felt quite hungry. No mood to take any more photos. So we decided not to complete the trail. We walked all the way to Venus Dr and took a taxi back to the starting point. Oh, it was damn tiring. Back to AMK to have our dinner and after that back to our home sweet home.

Although it is tired, but after viewing of the photos taken, felt that everything is worth it. Haha... Below are some photos taken from this trip which I'm quite satisfy with it...

An old hobby but a new beginning

Its been a while since i found myself to fall in love with photography. Normally I'm only using my digital cam, Ixus 980 to take those photos. Four days ago, i finally took another step out, vomitted $1688 to buy my first DSLR, Nikon D90. Its painful to my wallet but by getting it, i felt more happy than the time i bought my car. Haha...
I'm still very clumsy in operating it but hope i can get more pro faster and share more beautiful pictures here...haha.
