bye to my 105mm

so sad to bade goodbye to my 105mm as i saw there is some fungus starting. sold to a guy $50 cheaper than the price i bought in.
so scared that my other lens will kena too...till now others seems to be ok...

Bedok reservoir view

As this weekend i'm at my bro house, take this opportunity to snap a view of the bedok reservoir. As wake up oledi late, unable to take the sunrise view..hehe...
Untouch photo

Directly from the camera, you can see vigetting on the side of the photo as im using a cpl. As using a wide angle lens to take this photo, if u look closely on the building, all of them are slanted in a way towards the center of the picture. So to beautify it, below is the picture after photoshop.

After editing in photoshop
Does it looks nicer? the sky colour i enchance with a darker blue and the building i have straighten them. The vigetting has been removed.

Still a lot to learn lo. Clouds formation and lighting in the sky are really beautiful. really deeply attracted to them.

C&C are welcome.

Macro camera settings

As i'm so into macro shots, here is some combinations of my gadget that i wanted to share.

If you have money the best is to get a 1:1 ratio macro lens but if you have a budget, then here some tips for you.

If you have a manual lens, then very easy u r able to take a macro shot by buying a reversing adaptor. By attaching the manual lens in the reverse way, it is able to enlarge the image to a certain range but the DOF is quite shallow. The combination is as shown as above(second from the right). The reversing adaptor cost me SGD$22.

As wat i have, a 105mm manual lens which produce a 1:2 image, by attaching a cheap extension tube, then the image produce will be >1 image size. The normal extension tube with no electronic contacts cost me SGD$10. Item is located in the center. Previously i already shown the image taken from this combination.

If you have a little more to spend, then Raynox DCR-250 is the recommendation. Image taken is really nice and sharp. It cost me SGD$120 from MCGill ebay.(first from the right).

Finally if you are really into macro, then wat i recommend will be a 1:1 lens(as wat i have is a 150mm Sigma), then add an extension tube with electronic contacts(second from the left). The image produce is already quite big but if you have a DCR-250 then it will be perfect. No cropping will be needed to your image but remember, with extension tube, thr will be a 2f drop and if you like to take the picture with f8 - f16, then surely you will need an external flash. The extension tube with electronic contact is selling from SGD$190 - SGD$220 in the market. I got mine by exchanging my extra bag with a top up of $50 with a CSer.

Now i'm still in the process of learning macro. Lightings is the first thing that need to be look into and most important some editing too...haha...anybody out thr who r interested, we can yan jiu yan jiu together la...haha...

Thanks for reading..C&C are welcome...

Just after a few shots, my camera became gila. 90% of the picture taken is totally black. Test this and that still the same. Taught that need to masuk kilang but when reached home, it became normal. No matter wat i did, the camera still is in its normal condition. feeling happy abit but damn TL cannot get a ncie picture of that spider...

Here are two photos that i have taken this morning. I damn like the first 1...

Handsem and Ugly little creatures...

Last sat as i have a day free, again i visited AP which has lotsa little creatures to become my model. again, i still do not pass the 100m distance from the north entry..haha...
just about 10m from the entry, again i'm greeted with the hoppers, sliver and green, was on the leaves but this time not sure y, i saw many of them with only 1 hind legs...is there a creature somewhere who likes to eat hopper's leg?keke...
this time, was the first time i able to take pictures of these 8 eyes and 8 legs creatures...before i actually have my DSLR, i never knew they looks like that...its quite special and makes me more interested to make them as my model next time.

The "white horse king son" with a special crown

The wicked ugly crook

The only thing i hate about macro shot is that there is a lot of MOSQUITO! I will nvr have a chance to take photo of a mosquito as they will be DEAD before i ever realised they r there as i only c blood when i pik piak pik piak...

Extension Tube Received

ohhh...wat a week...after back from sri lanka, that afternoon i still thought can hav a good rest, but received call from my boss...got 2 jobs need to be done. shit...go sri lanka already didnot sleep for a day, then back still cannot sleep...till now, i think i can become superman liau...i almost 3 days din sleep..mayb 1 hr here and thr got close my eyes a while la..haha...aih...

waited for about 2 weeks, finally my extension tube is here...
So kan cheong to see what kind of image it can bring to me.
when it is mounted on to the camera with my Nikkor 105mm, it feels so great. Seems like a bazooka!haha..
At first, I'm thinking to sell off my Nikkor 105mm as i already have the Sigma 150mm. Luckily last week the buyer 放飞机 if not i will not have the chance to test it with the 105mm lens.

Although I'm very tired after a whole nite of working, but the feeling of wanted to see the out come already over whelm me. The pictures taken, what i can say is great! it seems to be more than 1:1 ratio. Fromt the pictures taken, what i can say is, the pictures are really quite clear and sharp. i would like to take my words back as previously i said that the Nikkor 105mm lose to the Sigma 150mm. It still can fight..haha...now i think i will not sell off the lens.

The pictures below are not crop
this moth is quite small. its size should be smaller than 5mm x 5mm.
Top is before crop, and below is after crop

The quality still not bad right..if it is not good, doesn't mean that the lens is bad but is my skill problem..haha
