An Alley of Fabulous Foods @ Jln Wong Ah Fook, JB by ViN

Have been going thru and fro around this place for the last 5 years but never ever paid any attention to wats going on in this specific alley. little do i know that in this small, crampy and dirty back alley hidden a lot of heavenly delicious foods till one day 茹 mentioned it to me. so eagerly after a tired working friday, we crossed the usually jam "sardine" bridge, to search for our temptations.

The hawker stalls here are divided into the three stretches of the alley. two of them is chinese foods while the other is halal. there are a lot of stalls but as we have already researched other blogs posting, we attacked those that were recommended. those we tried is located in the center alley.

Cockles(Si Ham) Fried Kuey Teow
There are two or three stalls that sell this dish but actually it did not slowed me down in finding which one is the best(if im not wrong).
From the way the uncle cooks it, i oledi beh tahan. the smoke that fills in my nostril told me, yeah this is the stall. and of course from the customer standing by to takeaway.
once the dish was placed in front of me.. wah.. from the look, i know its nice edi.. haha.. and wat i like it most.. ITS SALTY! wahahhaa.. so scare it turns out to be sweet.. each mouthful was eaten my full of pleasure. although praise i praise it till it seems like floating to heaven already BUT i still think.. the CROWN of King of Si Ham Char Kuey Teow still remains at Kulai main street. hiak hiak..

Nomal portion cost: RM3.50

Fried Oyster
Oppss.. before i introduce this dish.. i would like to say im a very particular guy when coming to taste Fried Oyster. from young this dish is my favourite and for these few years in JB, im unable to locate any nice OJian around till i savored this dish. OMG.. finally i found it.. my tears almost burst breaking free from a reservoir(oppss.. too over..hahaha). I present them the King of Kings Crown of Oo Jian! they are the only stall who sells fried oyster so it is not hard to locate.
the uncle who cook this dish really takes his time and he dont care how many people are in the queue. at first, i admitted that im already a bit quite frus, as i already finished all the dish that i have ordered but he still happily taking his time to cook. But as wat chinese all phrase stated.. "slow work produce good things".. i really remorse that i ever felt a bit angry waiting.. hahaa..
the egg and starch portions are all just nice... each mouthful, u wont felt.. "yucks!" all starch or eggs!! taste i do not need to say.. VERY BERY HERY good! no wonder so many people waiting without complaint.
BUT.. beware. I returned the second time for my temptation but im very unhappy with the outcome. please note that, only buy from the slightly fat uncle, around 40-50years old who always wear yellow t-shirt(as in the photo above) and not from an old uncle(60-70 years old). i still tot that maybe is his sifu but alamak.. really a disgrace to cook such food for customer..

Normal portion cost: RM6
stall no. 37

Ikan Bakar
Its sumthing that you muz try in this alley..
its a bit spicy but its worth the try.. maybe buy a cup or two drinks more la.. im wellknown to be a spicy eater, so to me its not a problem. the timing of coking the stingray is just nice, so its meat is very soft and tender. for myself, i like it a lot. hiak hiak.. a suggestion is that ask them to put more gravy.

the smallest stingray we selected: RM13
Stall no. 43

BBQ ChickenWings
I do not dare to say its the best in JB as i do not always prowl around for it but i dare to say its one of the top. haha.. there is overburned taste.. the combination of ingredients they use(butter? honey?) is very nice.. it seems not all places can find this taste(in sg sure its really hard lo..) when it was served hot hot.. the wonderous smell of it, swell between us.. seems like asking us.. stop eating others.. try me try me.. haha.. thumbs up for it.. and it is really finger licking good(really will lick my finger after i finished it.. hmm.. no tissue ma.. so lick clean clean lo.. wahaha..)

cost: RM1.80 per piece
Stall no. 32

Taste : ۞۞۞۞/۞۞۞۞۞
Service : ۞۞۞/۞۞۞۞۞
Pricing : ۞۞۞/۞۞۞۞۞

Drinks
Ordered a bowl of 六味 but the pricing is superb expensive as nothing much is in it. just a forewarn to others. there is another stall which sell the same thing for only RM2 with more ingredients served.

Price: RM2.50
Stall no. 38

The only two complaints i have about this place are.. a very dirty condition place to enjoy my food(cockroaches roaming around and some parts smells too) and quite hard to find parking(i mean real parking place without worring of being summon). Besides the two complaints.. i uttermostly love to come back again and again for the indulge having in this alley.
