Our ROM.. by ViN

after together with 茹 since 8 months ago.. she has been my "victim" to give my full responsibilities, care, concern and love. i have been "eyeing" her for the past few months and finally i decided that she is the ONE who i wish to spend the rest of my life with. i felt she really cared about me, take good care about me, have all her love and concern to me.. make me feel im so being sayang.. haha.. and further more she able to find and cook me so many different types of good food, which makes me feel so "THANKFUL" of making me now looking so "FIT".

although i admit i didnt give her a romantic wedding proposal, but im still able to make her tears roll with a lousy broken lyrics song. it proofs it works too.. hahaha.. i know she will "ngam" for my whole life when she thinks a bout the unplanned lousy proposal.. oh no..

she is not 100% perfect and i know there is some "DEFAULT FACTORY GALS DEFECTS".. BUT it didnt stop me today from singing the vow and signing the cert in front of so many witnesses(oh not cannot run liau)..

There is this quote that, marriage is like stepping into a grave but i hope we will dig this grave together and proof to others this grave is stationed in heaven whr all the happiness and bliss will be ours..
茹Laopo, hope we will built our future together strongly, where "wind wind rain rain" wont break us down. 茹Laopo, I Love U.

PS: at first dun feel nervous, but till i saw the solemnizer, heart began to pump so fast.. and hand starting to shake.. try to control it but when taking the wedding band.. walan.. it cannot stop shaking.. when wanna sing the vow, my throat seems to be stuck and so dry.. hahaa.. i think this time was the worse singing i had in my life.. hahaa..

thanks a lot to Dr Phua Tan Tee who is so bz yet able to fork out his time to become our solemnizer. he is really a very very very good solemnizer. each words which he speaks really warmed my heart. he was able to make the room atmosphere to be so happy and cheerful but im still so damn gancheong. hahaha.. for toher who wanna him to be your solemnizer too, to be safe, pls book him 3-6months in advance to get your booking. we are really lucky to get him in a short notice.. i like one of his quote, "when you say I DO, please look into each others eyes so that you partner able to receive the message and click to save." hiak hiak..

also thanks for our family and frens who attended the ceremony. those who are not invited, pls dun feel rage ya.. only a small small gathering nah.. pls be ready to get our BOM ba.. hahaha..

and finally, to all others who are so CONCERN about us.. we get married so fast is not because of any BOM detected.. pls be relaxed.. the reason is we are both really in LOVE.. wahahahhaha...

鱼漂猪肉面@Restoran SeKee, JB by ViN

On a Saturday morning, just out from Singapore.. both of us were like hungry wolves, aiming for any nice food near custom area. At first thinking of going to the best chicken chop in town but when passed by this shop, Ru said that their Mince Pork Noodles was recommended by some reviews.. as nvr tried b4, we stopped and give it a try.

the name of this shop is Restoran SeKee which is a direct translation from chinese "Drivers Restaurant". Heard that long time ago, a lot of taxi drivers will be around this area so they name after it. there were quite a number of customer, so it seems that their food should be not bad.

Ok.. back to food.. we ordered a soup and a dry. when it was served, eeee... how come my noodles just have some chilli on it and no more gravy? from the looks im quite dissapointed. wat to do.. im hungry.. just mixed and makan lah..

my dissapointment nvr change after tasted it.. aih.. how come sell sumthing like that. its realli only chilli taste lo.. tasted the soup.. hmmm.. yeap the soup is not bad.. sumthing when u drank finished the whole bowl, you wont feel too thirsty. eh.. how come there is fried pig skin in the soup? yucks i hate pig skin.. the i tell Ru, u wan pig skin? Ru laugh at me.. Its Fish Maw ok.. walau.. Fish Maw? eee. how much does cost? i scrolled by eyes around.. spotted.. RM7 for small.. almost fainted.. hahaa.. yeah, i agree that it is not bad, but if next time im here, can i option for only pork? hahaha.. i felt very expensive lo for that few small pieces of thing.. haha..
if wan me to recommend, never ever order their dry type. i think pnly the soup type is meant to be eaten.. haha.. but prepare to pay for at least RM7 ba.. portion is quite small lo..

Yardley Pastry 亚德利果子工坊 @ Taman Pelangi JB by Ru

If you are the loyal reader of our blog, you may notice that we seldom introduce any dessert or cake as we are not the fan of sweet stuffs .. BUT today I am going to intro this shop which is selling Blancmange (奶冻卷)and Japanese Milk Roll (日式牛奶卷). Why is it so special? Let the picture tells the story then...

Yardley Pastry is located at Jalan Sri Pelangi. The atmosphere of the shop is quite homey and warm and you can always see a lot of young adults having their high tea over here! It's a good place if you would like to hang around with friends and family.

We were attracted by different flavors of the Blancmange and Japanese Milk Roll, scratching our head to decide which flavor should we buy!

Haha, due to the overwhelming business, half of the flavors were OUT OF STOCK!!!

The price list of their products

After long consideration, we have finally made up our mind to buy the Matchzuki, Yam Blancmange and Mango Blancmange. I love their Blancmange and Milk Roll as the taste was so fragrant and not too sweet, the texture was so smooth and tender. I could taste the fragrant smell of the milk in every single bite of it.

Yam Blancmange

Mango Blancmange. You may notice that was a square thing in the centre of the roll cake. That is the so called "奶冻 Blancmange", just love the feeling while I was eating the roll cake together with the blancmange as they are matching with each other perfectly.

Matchazuki. I am always a green tea fan and I love this Matchzuki so much!! I believe the boss is using good grade of the green tea powder to make this dessert, just could not resist to take it one piece after one piece.

If you feel like to find a good place to have your high tea session with a bunch of good friends, Yardley Pastry is definitely a good choice of yours :)

Happy Birthday Vin

Happy birthday to Vin ... This is my first time celebrating his birthday since we have been together less than a year? haha!! Well, wanna give him a surprise so I sneaked out from the house on Sunday afternoon to get the Swensen ice-cream cake .. WHO KNOWS, he opened up the fridge and found it out while I was having my lazy nap :( This is very bad while the couple staying with each other, so difficult to give the surprise..BOOO!!!

This 1kg Swensen Mango Delight cost $40 without GST, I think it's quite worthwhile as comparing with Haagen Daaz as their 1kg ice cream cake costs $80!!! I was shocked while I saw the price and hence I compromised to buy the Swensen cake instead haha.. Well, actually the Swensen ice cream cake was tasted not bad, the texture of the ice cream was smooth and not too sweet .. However the topping part ( I guess it's some kind like mango flavored syrup?) was a bit sweet..

You can tell how tasty was the ice cream cake from this photo

Happy Birthday my dearest laogong Vin, hope you like the cake and the gift I prepared for you. Wishing you stay happy, healthy, handsome always!! May all your wishes come true, may our love brings us further till eternity :)

Yummy Claypot @ Joo Chiat Singapore by Ru

I was forced by Mr Kevin Toh to update this blog. Apparantly I was quite busy with works recently (lame excuse I know) and have been neglecting this blog for quite some time. I would like to send my sincere apology to all our loyal readers here haha!!!

Well, I was super lucky that my boss brought us to this restaurant which is located at Joo Chiat Road. At first I did not really give high expecation on the foods however the outcome turned out quite impressive! I love the foods here and so far it's one of the best restaurant I have in Singapore so far.. hehe...

Firstly, this is the Kailan with Fried dono what vege ...

Just vege, nothing much to say about it but I like the taste of it. I think the more special one would be the fried dono what vege, it is quite special as I seldom eat this kind of dish outside.

Secondly, Snow Peas with Scallops

I don't like eating snow peas but the scallops were quite fresh. That's why I ate 2 pieces of it wahaha

Thirdly, Japanese Beancurd with Pumpkin Sauce

I like the combination of this dish, surprisingly the pumpkin sauce was quite nicely cook and I believe that the chef blended the pumpkin throughly that's why the sauce was very smooth and mixed well with the beancurd.

Forthly, Braised Pork Knuckles

My colleagues (especially guys) loved this dish to the max! The meat was tender and the sauce was flavoring. Most importantly, it's not salty and oily.

Fifthly, Mushroom chicken in pressure cooker

This was quite a special dish as it was served with the pressure cooker. While the waiter opened up the cooker and we could smell the taste of the chicken. However the taste was quite normal so I did not eat it much haha

Sixthly, Seafood Porridge with crab and prawn

wohooo..this was so big pot and the serving was quite sumptous. I think this pot could serve at least 10 persons. My boss loves this dish and she strongly recommeneds this to us. Actually it tasted very good but the chef used the rice to cook this porridge, personally I think that if they use the real porridge might taste even better. FYI, it costs $50 only for this big pot.

Seventhly, Fried Crab with Salted Egg Yolk

Ladies and Gentleman, I proudly present this dish to everyone of you!!!!! From the picture you can see that the rich and yummy salted egg yolk was well coated with the crab!! trust me, the taste was so amazingly nice and I could lick the sauce over the plate ( I did not do this due to the presence of my boss lol) ...

How could we miss this out?? Fried Sweet Bun ... We dipped it with the egg yolk sauce, it's so heavenly nice!!!!

Overall it was a very satisfactory dinner and we were all leaving with a full full stomach!!! I would definitely pay it a visit again with Vin... Strongly recommend it to all of you especially seafood lover.

食得福美食中心@Taman Century, JB by ViN

食得福..食得福..吃的是福. what a nice name.. direct translation is able to eat is a blessing.. nice right.. haha.. although this foodcourt is one of the oldest in JB but im still a virgin stepping into it. hiak hiak.. hmmm.. i like all this old old foodcourt where it always hide a lot of nice delicacies.. 茹 said that this place she oftenly visit during her school days which is hmmm.. more then 10years ago.. oppss.. i didnt say her age yo.. haha..
actually our main target for this visit is for their curry fishhead.. yeah yeah.. i know i know.. im always eating unhealthy yet fatty food(thats y i got myself a spare type edi lo..) but i just cant resist them. as i already crowned kam long as the best curry fishhead in JB, will this dish change my view? lets see.. one thing it is better than kamlong is their location(opens at night and its an open area) and more variety of foods to choose.
ordered their smallest portion which cost RM23. Dish was served in about 15mins. hmmm.. it has the nice looks and taste wise.. mmmm.. better than usual curry fishhead BUT crown still remains at its place. understand? i think if they wan to win need to know wat curry powder kamlong use.. hahaha.. oh ya, compare to kamlong, their spiciness is up a level which i like but kamlong has a special taste which i dont know how to describe. ingredients wise quite a lot, taopok, taokee(beancurd stick),long beans, french beans, brinjal, big chilli and tomato.

Besides that, how can we dont order the ikan bakar. Sorry, name of the shop unable to see. lousy iphone.. hahaha.. it is at the same row with the curry fishhead. should be about 5-6 stalls to the left.
i waited for half an hour for it to serve as they forgot my order.. too bad.. BUT really this dish deserve to be waited.. haha.. their sambal is very nice. the stingray let me scrapped until bones also gone.. hahaha.. thumbs up. RM10 gone for it. i think it is on a par with the one at jln wong ah fook. hoho...

Dunman Food Centre @ JooChiat, SG by ViN

As we were quite free and no idea wat to eat on a specific weekend some weeks ago, there we set off to look for new foods. This time we targetted Joo Chiat Area.
Scroll around the area, hmmm.. wat to eat lei.. saw a lot of seafood restaurant and even pass by tian tian chicken rice shop.. really no idea wat should we choose..
finally we settle down at Dunman Food Centre which we dun have any idea wat is nice in thr.
the first stall that attacted our attention was the DragonCity. From the photos shown, it seems not bad and their price is quite ok. What do they sell? Main dishes are FROGS! haha.. normally when talk about 田鸡 in singapore, the most famous shop will be.. whr? i think mostly ppl will say at Geylang or Chinatown ba.. Each of their price is $8/pc(not sure if there is any price adjustment recently). As for DragonCity, they are selling $7/pc. Quite normal for such a price in foodcourt. Price wise is normal wat about the taste?
when it was served, the dish was still boiling hot and the nice aroma filled up my nostril. haha.. tasted a bit of the gravy, mmmm.. i think it wont lose to any of the famous shops lo.. we ordered the dried chilli type and taste is slightly salty but when it goes with the white porridge, that perfect.
the porridge itself already tasted nice(little flavoured.. a pot cost $3) which for me, im able to directly eat it without any side dish. hahaha.. for my opinion, their porridge tasted much better than the one sold at chinatown. as the kongpow frog is a bit salty and the porridge is quite bland, when mix together.. yum yum.. so total damage for this set for a person will be $10. if for two person, 1pc of frog i think should not be enough, so at least need to order 2pcs and a pot of porridge will be just nice.
Saw that DragonCity was operated by four young guys whose age looks around end of twenties or starting thirties. I quite admire them as they have the passion in doing it. it also inspire me sumthing.. hehehe.. hope it is succesful.(keep it a secret first)
we also ordered some side dishes from other stalls. fried sweet potato leaves($5) and a salted fish steam pork ribs($7).
hmmm.. the pork ribs tasted still not bad.. meat is quite soft and it is not too salty.
BUT do not order their sweet potato leaves.. they use preserved tofu to fry so and it doesnt seems to match. not recommended. maybe belacan sweet potato leaves will taste better..
